A practical 2-day, 1-night plan for a real weekend in Diu — forts, beach time, seafood lunch, and enough room to actually slow down.
Why this works
The shortest plan that doesn't feel short
Two days in Diu is enough to see the island's core — one fort morning, one beach afternoon, one seafood lunch, one sunset. What this plan skips on purpose is the morning-and-evening double schedule; Diu is hot and slow, and people who try to pack day-trip lists into a weekend usually end up tired by sunset. We do three things well instead.
If you have a third day, the 3-day plan adds Panikotha, Ghoghla, and time for water sports. If you're here for Somnath or Gir as well, use the combo guide instead.

Day 1: fort town + sunset beach
Midday · Naida Caves
Quiet coral-stone maze 1 km from the fort. 30–45 minutes — bring grip shoes and look up for the light shafts.
Evening · Chakratirth sunset
Close the day at this broad sandy cove on the south edge of town. Sunset here is the most reliable of the trip.
Day 2: beaches, Hoka palms, seafood lunch
Morning · Nagoa Beach
Drive 7 km to the crescent-shaped north beach. Swim, walk the Hoka palms, optional banana boats / parasailing.
Late morning · Hoka Palms
The forked palm (Hyphaene dichotoma) lines Nagoa and stretches inland. Worth a slow walk or a stop on the way to Vanakbara.
Lunch · Vanakbara fish village
Drive 10 km south to the working fishing harbour. Seafood at the dockside kitchens — fried, grilled, or curry.
Optional Day 2 closer · St Paul's Church
Afternoon · St Paul's Church
On the way back from Vanakbara, stop at St Paul's for 30 minutes. Have-to-do in Diu — Baroque facade, calm interior.
